Joanne L. Owens is the founder of SolarWind Marketing & Design, LLC, a marketing and graphic design company that provides creative solutions to professional services firms and businesses who want to build client loyalty and develop new business in a professional style, without aggressive promotion. A few of the industries currently being served by SolarWind include legal services, health care, information technology, food services, real estate and small to mid-size retail businesses.

Joanne brings a unique blend of management, marketing and creative design skills to serve her clients' needs. Prior to launching her own company, she worked for ten years developing her marketing and graphic design expertise as the head of marketing for two nationally prominent leading law firms where she launched many successful marketing initiatives and won two national web site awards for artistic direction, content and strategy.

Joanne began her career working as a public librarian and has held several management positions in law firms such as records manager and law librarian. With a burgeoning interest in graphic design and marketing, she obtained formal training 10 years ago and moved on to a law firm management position overseeing several areas including records management, library services, facilities management, purchasing, marketing and graphic design. From there, it was just a matter of time before she was able to enter into marketing and communications full time.

Joanne is a member of the Legal Marketing Association and was invited three years ago to join a national focus group managed by Schmidt Marketing, Inc. who brings together marketing professionals from across the country to share best practices. She has recently volunteered her services to assist NAWBO Delaware with its marketing and communications.

Joanne was an ordinary pet lover who several years ago became impassioned to help stop puppy mills. She spends time volunteering at her local humane society and tries to help raise awareness about issues affecting dogs.
