NAWBO Delaware Member Spotlight

Dr. Devona E. G. Willams
Goeins-Williams Associates, Inc.

Dr. Devona E. G. Williams founded Goeins-Williams Associates, Inc., (GWA) a successful performance consulting and training business in 1986 now headquartered in Clayton, DE with a field office in Aurora, CO to "help organizations achieve greater productivity in strategic work environments". As President/CEO of her company Dr. Williams has contributed her talents to helping more than 30000 individuals in hundreds of organizations increase their effectiveness. This year is significant for Devona because it marks GWA's 18th year in providing performance consulting services in the Mid Atlantic and Rocky Mountain Regions. This year also marks Devona's return to Delaware as her primary residence and to NAWBO Delaware, as well as the relocation of GWA's Wilmington office to Clayton, Delaware.

GWA offers comprehensive services that include assessments, focus groups, strategic planning, meeting facilitation, organizational and individual development and related products. Devona expanded the business to the Rocky Mountain region and opened an office in Aurora, Colorado in 2003. While there she became active in NAWBO Denver and became the Director of Corporate and Community Relations and led its Public Policy effort. In August 2006, she was named NAWBO Member of the Year/Outstanding Women in Business Award by the Denver Business Journal (DBJ) and selected as a finalist in the category of Consultants in 2005.

While building business in the Denver area, Williams still focused her energies on her Delaware customer base. The Delaware Today Magazine named Dr. Williams one of the top 37 women in business in Delaware in December 2005. She believes the most satisfying aspect of running her business is to help organizations overcome challenges by improving processes, and performance and seeing recommended changes implemented.

Williams is a contributing author to the inspirational book, Remarkable Women and creator of the best-selling Spice of LifeŽ Diversity Card training tool and a frequent speaker on business success, entrepreneurship, and workplace diversity.
