NAWBO Delaware Committees

Serving on a chapter committee is the best way to make the most of your NAWBO Delaware membership - it allows you to maximize your networking contacts and meet new friends. Members are encouraged to contact the chairpersons of any committee to find out more information and consider contributing your experience.

Finance Committee

Chair: Mary Severino
The Finance Committee supervises the financial affairs and financial planning of the chapter (including quarterly review of operating and financial statements), reports its findings to the Board, and supervises the investments of the chapter. In addition, the Finance Committee is responsible for the implementation of sound financial procedures by the chapter as designated in the chapter policies and procedures documentation.

Public Policy Committee

Chair: Cathy Imburgia
The Public Policy Committee is responsible for the education, advocacy and action of public policy  issues impacting chapter members and women business owners throughout Delaware.  In addition, the committee oversees the communication of NAWBO's' public policy positions and activities and the coordination of all legislative visits by chapter members.  It also coordinates chapter relations with local and regional political and public policy leaders and encourages their participation in chapter meetings.  Learn more about the NAWBO Delaware Public Policy Committee and current issues facing NAWBO Delaware members.

Membership Development Committee

Chair: Caroline Chahalis
The Membership Development Committee is responsible for promoting the growth of diverse chapter membership through the activities of recruitment, hospitality, orientation, and retention. They shall also be responsible for managing the chapter's member and prospect database and the application process, both in accordance with NAWBO policy.

Programs Committee

Chair: Carole Downs
The Program Committee is responsible for developing the meeting programs and enlisting speakers relevant to the chapter needs for each operating year. After each meeting the committee will collect members' evaluations, and regularly review member comments for the purpose of continuously improving program delivery.

Marketing/Public Relations Committee

Chair: Karen Burton
The Marketing/Public Relations Committee communicates all public information about the chapter's activities and events to both the chapter members and to the chapter's constituents throughout the community. Through a marketing plan that it creates, it shall be responsible for managing the chapter's brand image, developing consistent communications, and media opportunities for both chapter activities and chapter members. The committee coordinates all printed collaterals and publications and ensures that they are branded consistently to NAWBO's published standards.

International Development Committee

Chair:  position open
The International Committee works to enhance members' wealth-creating capacity by exploring opportunities in the global marketplace; identifying opportunities for members to take leadership roles in the international business community; and building strategic alliances with international organizations whose mission and goals are aligned with NAWBO's.

Corporate Partners and Economic Development Committee

Chairs: position open
The Corporate and Economic Development Committee is responsible for the cultivation of corporate partner relationships and special event sponsors for the chapter, and any other sources of revenue deemed appropriate by the Board. The committee also develops the network of financial and educational resources that contribute to the economic development of individual members.

President's Council

Chair: Cathy Imburgia
The President's Council is comprised of all active past presidents of the chapter. Its purpose is to apply the collective leadership experience of the chapter by providing sound advice to the President and/or President-Elect in areas such as strategic community involvement, forward-thinking action plans, and comprehensive chapter-community relations.
