Our Purpose

The NAWBO Delaware Chapter formed to meet the growing needs of women business owners in Delaware. The chapter is an affiliate of The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), headquartered in Washington, DC, which is the only dues-based national organization representing the interests of all women entrepreneurs in all types of businesses.

NAWBO Delaware's mission is to enable women business owners to grow by coming together to share mutual experiences, exchange information and develop business skills. Our History

In April 2000, a group of local women business owners began the process of forming the Delaware Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), an organization focused on propelling women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power. By June 1, 2000, the six founding members succeeded and the chapter was established with 20 members and a volunteer board of directors and committees.

In its nine year history, the Delaware Chapter has grown its membership to include a diverse mix of women entrepreneurs, corporate partners and supporting members from Delaware and Southeastern Pennsylvania. NAWBO Delaware membership spans a host of industries and represents start-up and established firms - large, mid-size and small.
