Non-Profit Spotlight March 9, 2010
Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI) is a non-profit educational choice for pregnant teens throughout Delaware. Now in its 41st year of operation, DAPI serves teens from ages 12-19. These girls are largely minority and low income with a host of additional challenges including academic, domestic, health and foster care. They are highly at risk of dropping out of school. DAPI's mission is to ensure graduation, healthy pregnancies and the tools for success as both citizens and parents.
DAPI seeks committed and caring board members to govern and serve as resources to the DAPI mission statewide. In particular, there is a current need for Human Resource Specialists, Facilities Experts and Educators. There are also committee openings for special events and marketing. Currently the DAPI board is comprised of 18 individuals with an additional advisory and honorary board to support their efforts. With a 1.2 million dollar budget and a staff of 30, DAPI is well positioned to make an impact on a highly vulnerable population. For more information, please visit www.dapi.org or email lodonnel@dapi.org.
